Apple TV is a popular choice in offices, studios and shops that already use Apple devices. The onday player is a native tvOS app, so images and video play smoothly.

One thing is different on Apple TV: tvOS has no web browser component, so web pages are shown as snapshots.

Pair with a code

Open the app, enter the code in your dashboard and the screen is online.

Native playback

Images and video play natively on tvOS.

Web pages as snapshots

Set a web item to snapshot mode and onday renders it on the server as an automatically refreshed image.

Emergency messages

Broadcasts reach Apple TV screens within about 15 seconds, like every other device.

Set it up

  1. Install onday player from the App Store on your Apple TV
  2. Open the app to see its pairing code
  3. In the dashboard choose Screens → Add screen and enter the code
  4. Switch any web-page items to snapshot mode
  5. Assign a playlist with a schedule

What Apple TV cannot do

tvOS does not let apps sleep, wake or reboot the device. A Turn Off timer shows a black screen and Reboot reloads the player. Live interactive web pages are not available; use snapshot mode.

Keep it awake

In Apple TV Settings set Sleep After to “Never” so the device does not sleep while the player is open.
